Meet Kona
Imagine life with the perfect family in the best home. Kona loved his family. Adopted as a puppy 7 years ago, he was the alpha dog and the center of their universe. Then one day a new baby came home and everything changed. His other canine siblings didn’t seem to mind the new family member but Kona just couldn’t understand.
Now Kona is hoping for a new home this year. A family that will give him all the love and attention, but also set rule and boundaries. He is an alpha male but he needs a leader to guide him like any GSD.
Kona is good with other respectful dogs given a proper introduction. Older dog-savvy children (7+) are fine too but no little ones please. He loves to swim in the pool, play with toys and hang in his crate. He is a smart boy who quickly learns new things, and is used to having his people around most of the day. Car rides to explore new places would be fun too. Is Kona the companion for you?

If you are interested in me, please contact us at information@coastalgsrsd.org or call (858) 779-9149. Don't forget to fill out our online application: http://www.coastalgsrsd.org/webform/1774/adoption-application. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100%25 tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
