Meet Kobe - KOBE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!

*******KOBE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!! ******

Kobe's owner passed away suddenly, leaving him homeless. He is a very handsome 6 year old and a little overweight, so some regular exercise is needed along with a well supervised feeding program.

Kobe listens very intently with a cute expressive face whenever he is spoken to, always trying to understand exactly what is being said. He knows several commands and is a dog who learns quickly and wants to please. Kobe bonds very strongly to his person and frequently asks for attention and petting, sometimes becoming quite vocal with his insistence but will stop (he understands QUIET) when told to do so. He wants to be near his favourite person and will follow them everywhere in the house. He likes to share their bed but will get down if told to. He loves to have his special person accompany him outside for some playing fetch (which he LOVES) or just enjoying the outdoors and exploring his yard.

Kobe is currently living with several Shelties but he would probably be best as the only dog as he can be dominant in his behaviour, especially around food. His adopter needs to be a confident person who understands dog behaviour and who will be consistent, firm and positive. Kobe loves to be told that he's a good boy!

If you have a securely fenced yard and are interested in adopting KOBE or any of our dogs, the first step is to complete an Adoption Application at www.sosr.ca/apply-to-adopt so that we can determine whether you are a good match for one of the dogs. If we have a possible match, you would then have a telephone interview, speak to the foster mom, have home visit by one of our volunteers and vet reference check. Once you have been approved for adoption you can then meet the dog at his foster home. At that time, if you would like to have him as a new family member, you would complete the adoption paperwork and take him home.
