Kimiko Pit Bull Terrier & Boxer Mix Leavenworth, KS

Our Kimiko girl, estimated to be about 2 years old, joined us shortly after the new year. She originally caught the attention of a local volunteer dog trapper after Kimiko appeared at a local park where it seems she may have been abandoned. Following sightings and attempting to catch her for days, she finally approached a family, and they were able to get her into their yard. This family kept her in their home for a few days, waiting for either owners to step forward or to decide if they'd like to keep her. Unfortunately, they decided not to keep her but gave us lots of helpful information!
They said this sweet girl loved their children, followed them around and slept in their beds. She got along great with their dog, and we can confirm that Kimiko seems to be doing great with the dogs we've tried her with here at the shelter. She seems to be potty trained, they said she knew to go to the door, go outside to use the bathroom and came right back in. Miko girl is amazingly sweet, and love to snuggle, but she can be a bit reserved and skittish around new people and situations. She just needs to earn trust!
Kimiko may not do great with cats, she tends to think they're suspicious and likes to bark at them. But it's a possibility if they are seperated when alone and taught to get along.
