Kelly-8/4/11 Pit Bull Terrier Mix Lambertville, NJ

KELLY is a 6-9 month old pitbull puppy that was found wandering the streets of Philadelphia covered in bite wounds(as seen in photo #3) and a badly broken jaw. Based on the type and quantity of wounds, it was clear that KELLY had been used as a “bait” dog, a submissive and nice dog thrown into the “ring” in a dogfight to act as live bait to start dogs fighting each other. KELLY was emaciated and dehydrated and unable to eat. She was picked up by Animal Control and brought immediately to Animal Alliance where specialized orthopedic surgery was done at Crown Veterinary Specialists in Lebanon, NJ by Dr. Wendy Ross, a gifted veterinary surgeon. Though part of her jaw is now missing, KELLY is doing great. She is sweet, spirited and friendly and one would never know that she had been mistreated by humans, as she trusts and loves all the humans she meets.
