Kahlua A0055873348 Retriever & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Hamilton, OH

Kahlua came in a stray to Animal Friends back in May 2024 and was adopted not long after, but has unfortunately, returned to our care due to her adopter facing an eviction and no longer being able to keep her. The former adopters described Kahlua as a shy and quiet girl who did not even bark at new people when they come to the house. She is housebroken and enjoys playing, but is also a very chill dog. Kahlua is crate trained and non-destructive in a home. She responds to the commands sit and shake. She was living with another female dog but has not been around children. Since being at the shelter Kahlua got a chance to participate in doggie play group. She overall did well and played nicely with several dogs in the group but had some moments of trying to "police" the other dogs in playing. If you're looking to give a sweet senior a home to retire in consider Kahlua!

Kahlua is current on shots, licensed, and microchipped. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption. All our dogs receive a behavior assessment before being placed for adoption to determine initial behaviors towards people and other dogs in the shelter environment. Dog Adoption Fees:
Puppies – 4 months and under: $200
Adult Dogs – 5 months and over: $95
Senior Dogs (7+ years old): $50

People visiting the shelter in person or viewing animals on our website will note that all of our dogs are labeled as “Mixed Breeds” unless they have been DNA tested or are surrendered to the shelter with paperwork. Any potential breeds listed here on PetFinder are not assumed to be accurate and are merely a starting point for people to be able to search for a dog who may visually resemble a breed they are interested in. We feel that the best matches are made based on a dog’s individual personality and recommend families come meet our animals in person and/or utilize our Foster to Adopt program to see if that dog is a good fit for their home.
