Junior Chihuahua & Dachshund Mix Portland, ME

Junior is a Chihuahua, dachshund mix, aka - a chiweenie! He's about 4-5 years old and was surrendered to our partner rescue in Mississippi.

Junior is an "absolute doll," according to his foster family! His favorite thing to do is to burrow deep under the covers and fall asleep. He's definitely a lap dog and is obsessed with people, he'll follow you around everywhere!
He does get jealous, and will give warning growls, if another dog tries to climb up in his person's lap, but otherwise does great with other dogs. He is also learning to co-exist with cats, though he will chase/try to play if the cat starts to run.

Junior is still working on his potty training, and is getting better every day. He will mark if he can smell another male dog has marked, and he will go inside if his humans aren't available to let him out. He's working on this diligently in his foster home, but will need time to adjust in his forever home as well.

Junior does great in the car, and is doing great walking on a leash!

Current pets must by spayed/neutered.

Adoption fees cover age specific vaccinations, martingale collar, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worming and transport fees.

Adoption fees:
Through 6 months of age $450;
7 months to through 5 years $400;
6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500;
9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning Pending Adoption. This dog is in foster care locally, ONLY if Maine or New Hampshire is listed next to the dogs name; otherwise, the dog is still waiting with our partner rescue for an adoption or foster home in New England.

Imported dogs are transported with a Health Certificate. All imported dogs are quarantined 14 days prior to getting on transport.
