Meet Josie in CT - Adores Attention!

Josie is an outgoing young lady who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. Her foster mom’s comment “whenever I feel a pup’s front fee on my leg, I know it is Josie” – she demands attention! This girl is outgoing and ready for any adventure you bring her way. She loves playing with her siblings but is also independent and strong-willed. Josie and her siblings (8 total) were born in rescue after mama was saved from a TN shelter. Josie, like her mama and siblings, is extremely affectionate, and loves people and attention. These smart and loving pups enjoy playing together and wrestling, but are also independent and strong-willed—true to their Pyr heritage! Josie has moved to a new home with two of her siblings where she is learning crate training and mastering leash walking! This girl is a true Pyr and will do best in a home with a family who understands all things Pyr, has a secure fenced yard and another large breed male dog to learn from and play, of course! Oh.. and to help her continue her manners! If you are looking for a Pyr girl to dote on, Josie is ready and waiting to soak it all in!

Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

Transport not available to the West Coast - please see our list of Northwest dogs at https://nationalpyr.org/northwest-region
