Meet Jewels $400
Hi, I'm Jewels! I'm 1-2 years old, and I'm a petite 38-pound spayed female miniature Doberman mix. I think I am done growing. When I play I sort of look like a cross between a kangaroo and a kitten, if you can picture it. It is the cutest.
I am a loyal, smart, playful puppy with medium to high energy. I love to run and tumble around with my friends. I also really love to lay in your lap, be picked up, and cuddle or sleep with you while you watch tv. I am pretty sure I can fly and I will prove it when I pounce to catch the ball or the toy. My foster family laughs and laughs at me when I do this. I've lived with cats before and we pretty much just ignored each other. I am energetic but played carefully with a 6-year-old boy with autism. I can be a little shy at first, and pretend I don't know my name(selective listening), but I warm up quickly with love and attention. I love training and playtime. I am quiet most of the time, so I won't upset your neighbors.
I'm a smart girl and know that potty goes outside, and I learned quickly in my foster home to ring the bells by the door if I need to go out. I don't have accidents inside when kept on a schedule. I know how to sit for treats, lay down, and spin and I bet I could learn a lot more! I like to go for walks and to play with other dogs in a fenced yard. I prefer to have my own food and water bowls as I don't like to share these with others. I do like to share my toys and play tug with other dogs or family members!
I sleep in the room with my family on my own doggie bed and a toy or two. I am generally very good, but I might be cuddling with your shoe in the morning, or try to take it with me to cuddle with later. I would rather cuddle with you, though. I also spend some time in the crate when my family is not home. I'm not much trouble, but if I get bored I might move things around, so the crate is good while I am learning what is ok and what is not. At first, I didn't like it in the new space, but now I find comfort there and I stay quiet through the day in the crate while dad is working. If I have consistent rules, I am happier, but I will test the boundaries to be sure you mean it. I need smart toys that keep my mind busy. I love to figure out puzzles. I am happier when you are home and available to play with me, but toys will keep me occupied for a long time if there is enough variety.
I am extremely loyal and I would really like a forever home with another dog to play with and teach me, kids to play with, and a family who will let me be myself and get settled in for a lifetime of love and hilarious fun.
If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in Milwaukee. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.
Current Adoption Fees Are:
$400+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$350+tax for ages 4-7
$250+tax for ages 8 and up

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs. Thank you for considering Lucky Mutts Rescue for your next furry family member!
