Jessie is a ridiculously adorable 6-yr-old “toy” Australian Shepherd. She is a joyful, energetic fluff ball weighing in at 9.5#. Described as small but mighty, she is loving and affectionate, focused on her people.

The ideal day for Jessie includes lots of time with her family, doing whatever they are doing. She hopes that includes lots of time outside. She is smart, picking up routines easily. She would love to continue learning new tricks or taking obedience classes with her human best friend(s).

This is no purse pup; Jessie wants a lifestyle of daily activity, either taking her people on a walk or playing with all her toys to her heart's content. She has a wonderful “off switch” in the house, happy to relax and watch the world go by from the back of a chair or settle in for a nap.

Jessie would be best as a solo pup with an engaged family. She does well with the kitties she has met so far. She can live with school-aged children who are gentle, understand she is not a toy and needs to be handled with care and respect.

We require a fenced yard for Jessie to play safely. Though she walks nicely on leash, she can be intimidated by other dogs and would prefer not to encounter many while out and about with her family. A quiet suburb or rural location with minimal traffic on walking paths would be an ideal fit.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Jessie's adoption fee is $400 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. She is scheduled for a dental cleaning in early June at the rescue's expense. If she is adopted by then, we will ask her new family to help transport her to the appointment.
