In foster in Tumwater, WA
JERSEY is an absolute sweetheart. She is approximately 1-1.5 yrs old and weighs 60#. She came to us with a litter of puppies that were only about 3 weeks old!!! The story is that the gentleman that brought her to us was in the country and down the street he observed an SUV pull over; place a large black trash bag out on the side of the road and then kick mama dog out and took off. He stopped and opened the bag and there was an entire litter of puppies about 3 weeks old!!! Surprisingly all in good condition. They all came to rescue.
We placed them in our house in an area to the side but not isolated. She got along with ALL of our dogs and had no problems with having all these strange dogs so close to her puppies. She took good care of them and they all lived... very unusual for a large litter. She worked her way into our routine of the dogs going outside to potty in the back yard so we could tell she was house trained. She would come in when called and didn't get into any trouble. Her only fault is that she will go after cats...other than that, she really is a perfect dog. She has the sweetest, loving personality. She loves "treat" time and begs with her big brown eyes. She will stay in a confined area or kennel without any struggle or sound. She has not shown ANY aggressiveness of any kind...even though she is Pit Bull. She will make a great companion and the Pit Bull appearance makes her a good guard dog (even though I think she'd probably wag her tail and let the burglar in :).
Check out our YouTube video at the Fosters home: She is so gentle she plays great with an 11 pound dog! She loves to meet new people and has done great with all new dogs she has met. She is not a HIGH energy or demanding dog, easy and super lovable, friendly with all humans and dogs we have seen her with in TX and the PNW.
She does like different toys, will play some also with balls. Other dogs can investigate and play with 'her' toys and she has so zero resource guarding. They can come near her food bowl even eat from it and she doesn't seem to care.

HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/
This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose.
Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives
