Meet Jerry
Jerry is approximately 7 years old and weighs 56 pounds. Jerry came into our rescue one day before he was going to be euthanized because he had heartworm. We took Jerry to our vet immediately for heartworm treatment. He stayed at the vet for 5 days. Usually heartworm positive dogs get a third shot 30 days after their initial treatment, but because he is a blue heeler mix he could not get anymore treatment. We started him on heartguad which the vet said will kill the microfalaria and with continuing the heartgard every month, it will get rid of the female worm and he will be heartworm free. It would have been a shame for this boy to be euthanized. He is such a wonderful, loving and gentle dog and he will make a great companion in any family. He is the perfect dog. So gentle. Just wants to be loved and a part of a family
