Jerry German Shepherd Dog Chicago, IL

Jerry is a handsome sable rescued from Chicago Animal Control. Though he was microchipped, no one ever reclaimed him. Jerry is estimated to be about 5 years old and weighs about 80 lbs, and still filling out. He was in rough shape when we rescued him — underweight with long nails, skin infections, ear infections, and hair loss. With some good vet care, diet, and TLC, Jerry is looking much better! He is an active boy that lives for his ball. Jerry would love a fenced in yard that he can play fetch in all day! He is housebroken and knows basic commands. Jerry is strong on leash, but does well on a prong collar. He really likes kids, though can be a bit exuberant for little ones. Jerry tested ok at the shelter with one dog, but appears picky about his friends - he may do well with a female dog, but please no small fluffy ones. He has not been cat tested, but he doesn’t show strong prey drive with rabbits or squirrels. Jerry loves car rides! He is not a barker unless of course he sees something he needs to protect his foster mom from. Jerry is a great boy that will thrive in an active GSD experienced home.
