Hey everyone! Jax here.
I am a 70 pound, 1-year old polar bear! Just kidding, I wish. I am what seems to be some sort of shepherd mix, but like a lot of other details about my background, that’s unknown.
I came from Alabama, and they told people I was an owner give-up, that some older man got too old to care for my goofy self. But as the days go on, the Last Stop volunteers find that hard to believe. It seems that I was from a junkyard or even lived in a car. I do not have much concept of what it’s like to be in a home, I play with boxes and water bowls for toys, and really enjoy spending time in the car. Luckily, my awesome foster mom is showing me what home life is like and I would love a family who can do that with me permanently.

After I arrived to Illinois from Alabama, I was rescued, then found myself at risk of euthanasia. I am so lucky that Last Stop decided to take me in and work through my little quirks, because I am really determined to live the rest of the long life I have left safe and loved! I currently attend training classes through Human Canine Connections and will get the opportunity to continue in my forever home. Last stop has hooked up my new family with 4 free hours of training, 2 in which can be in home and also 3 months of training with HCC! This is exactly what I need to be set up for success.

I am a super goofy boy. Like I said before, I love the car and being outside. I get along well with other dog. I am curious of cats but am pretty gentle. I enjoy to give hugs to my humans, even though we are learning “off” in training. I am also told I am somewhat stubborn, but what 1 year old isn’t? I would do well in a home with older children. As far as energy level, I have my random spurts of energy but can also chill.

I am so lucky to have a second shot at life and really hope you are the one I can spend it with!
