Meet Jasper! This gentle giant is 9 years old, 80 lbs, and the definition of patience, kindness, and resilience.

Jasper has had half a dozen homes in just the last few years. He was originally surrendered to a shelter by a rescue that was closing its doors and was fostered by a shelter staff member. He was adopted but tragically returned in October 2024 when his beloved adopter fell ill. He then spent some more time in another foster home before landing back at the shelter again last fall. The shelter staff and volunteers went the extra mile for Jasper and helped him become a Miri's boy.

Despite all the changes in his life, Jasper remains the same gentle soul — calm, loving, and full of quiet wisdom. He’s navigating some vision and hearing loss, as many senior dogs do, and was recently diagnosed with Cushing’s, a hormone issue that causes too much cortisol production. Luckily Cushing's is easily manageable with Trilostane and special diet (low-fat, high-protein, and moderate fiber), and Jasper is already feeling better.

What Jasper needs now is a warm, safe place to spend his golden years — a home where he can finally be cherished for the incredible dog he is. Jasper gets along well with other dogs and moves around with ease, winning hearts wherever he goes.
