Jackson: Mr. Sweet and Sassy,

Jackson came to us with two other dogs, one was his son, the other was a chihuahua mix. He had been living with his human family his whole life so you can imagine at almost 13 years young this was super difficult for him when surrendered.

Jackson’s son and the other chi were adopted fairly quickly once they were comfortable, but Jackson remained. He needed work, he needed trust, and at 12 years old, that’s not an easy feat. So, we waited patiently, we went at Jackson’s pace, we worked for several months to get his harness on as he’s not huge on people putting things on him. It’s all trust, it was long, but finally the day came that Jackson was ready to meet the world again.

He proudly comes out on adoptions days for his walks, he is very proud of himself and holds his head high. He also strolls in his carriage when it’s a bit too hot or we are too tired from walking. He has a ton of pep in his step for a senior and has a lot of life in him. Jackson still has some fear meeting new people, It will take some time. But if you’re a chihuahua person, you probably already know this. We've watched Jackson do one meet and greet and he did very well. Now that he is back out and about in the world, doing great with his handlers, used to seeing more people, proud of his big lion personality, he is ready to meet you all. We couldn’t be prouder of all the progress Jackson has made, he is sweet and sassy, but once he knows you, he can be very loving, loves his scratches and rubs, loves to go in the car and is just happy to be with his human. We agree it’s time for Jackson to go home and live out his senior years in a nice comfy home.
