Jack Whippet & Dachshund Mix Ossining, NY

Jack is a reserved but playful little guy. Trusting new people does not come automatically for Jack. However, he looks for connection and once he has trust with you, he will seek his people out in a crowd! (We do know he was neglected and mistreated in his previous home so this could very well have had a lasting effect on how he sees humans.)

We know whenever Jack gets adopted, it will be an adjustment for him. Any transition will take some getting used to but we are sure he has the tools to handle it with the support of patient, relaxed owners.

Jack gets along pretty well with other dogs that suit his style. He especially likes smaller, calm friends.

Jack would do best in a home without young children and with a household that has a predictable routine. He would not do well in an urban or busy street area. This boy will rely on consistency inside and outside the home! He would do wonderful in a home with another dog! He walks very well on the leash now but still has some environmental fears that can cause him to panic at times.
