Meet Izzy
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS.
NOTE: FIRST PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO POTENTIAL ADOPTERS WITH A CURRENT PLAYFUL SMALL BREED YOUNG DOG FOR IZZY TO PLAY WITH!
Izzy is an adorable 10 week old (as of 10/18/24) possibly Chihuahua Cairn Terrier mix who is about the size of a guinea pig and fast as lightning!
Izzy is currently two pounds and her mom is 6 pounds. Mom has scruffy fur and dad has short hair. Dad was born with a bob tail and looks like a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix.
Izzy currently has soft fur; no idea what texture will be like when she is mature.
Izzy’s mom came into the rescue very pregnant. Izzy was born via emergency C-section, but unfortunately, her sibling didn’t make it.
Izzy is a spirited little bobtail girl, full of energy and always on the go. At just 2 pounds, she packs in a lot of playfulness and is quick on her feet. Her days are filled with typical puppy antics such as play biting, wrestling with toys, and exploring her surroundings. She has the typical terrier spunk and will need guidance to learn good manners as she grows (no playbiting or hanging onto people’s pant legs for fun!!).
She is very friendly and sociable, loves attention.
Due to her tiny size and speed, Izzy needs a secure, fenced area for outdoor play, but she should never be left outside alone. She would look like a tasty morsel for a passing hawk or can escape through any tiny hole in a fence!
Indoors, she has been kept in a gated space to keep her safe, as she can easily slip into tight spots, like under furniture or even behind the refrigerator.
Izzy is making great progress with her potty training and often whines when she needs to go outside, especially when kept on a regular schedule.
Izzy enjoys the company of other dogs, but they should be dogs that can be patient with her playful puppy jumping and enthusiastic energy.
Izzy will be ready for her new home at the beginning of November. To keep her healthy, she should avoid public spaces and interactions with unknown or unvaccinated animals until she receives her third booster, scheduled for the end of November.
Izzy is looking for a loving home that can keep up with her lively spirit and provide her with the care she needs to thrive!
Adoption donation $525 (includes rabies vaccination as well as spay and microchip at 6 months old due to her small size).
Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.
