Meet Ivy
Ivy is a 1 year old, 35 pound Italian Greyhound mix who is fully vetted, crate & potty trained.
Ivy's backstory is a mystery, but it's clear she hasn't always had a comfortable life. She's still a bit timid around humans, likely due to a lack of early socialization or past negative experiences. However, with time and patience, she's come out of her shell. Once hiding from visitors, Ivy now confidently lays in the open. She just needs space and time to approach new people on her own terms.
Ivy is looking for a loving forever family who can offer patience, understanding, and plenty of love. Ivy responds endearingly to "babe" or "girl" and has started to show her bright and playful personality as she learns to trust.
Once Ivy feels safe, her true personality shines. She knows a few basic commands, her recall is improving, and her leash manners are much better, though she'll need ongoing practice. This energetic girl loves running around in a securely fenced yard-it's where her free spirit truly shines! A fenced yard is a must, as Ivy is a flight risk and cannot be off-leash.
Ivy LOVES other dogs! A home with another dog is required to help her continue to gain confidence. She has thrived with regular dog interactions in her foster home and at doggy daycare, where she's been the life of the party-sharing toys, cuddling with fellow pups, and engaging in endless playtime.
Ivy is cat friendly too!
Ivy is a cuddle queen. Whether squeezing into the tiniest spot on the couch or nudging for attention, she loves being close to her humans. She isn't shy about asking for pets and will happily let you know when it's time for snuggles. When left alone, Ivy does best in a crate for her safety and to protect your belongings, as she's still learning appropriate chewing habits.
Ivy's future family will need to be patient and follow the 3-3-3 rule for shelter dogs: three days to decompress, three weeks to settle in, and three months to fully adjust. This adjustment period will help her thrive in her new home. Despite her shy beginnings, Ivy is a dog who will steal your heart. She'll bring endless love, joy, and laughter to your home. Are you ready to give Ivy the forever family she deserves?
