Some of us have the courage to waltz right into any situation with our heads held high. Others prefer to have someone else check it out and tell us when it's safe.

Little Iris belongs to that first group, which means that you don't have to. She's the one who can go into the dark room first or precede you down the overgrown path to forge the way. So, you'll feel secure when you're with her no matter where you are. Who knew that bravery comes in the form of 4 legs?

Iris is a spunky 2-month-old girl who we think is a Shepherd mix of some sort. She may be 50-60 lbs. once she fully blooms.

She loves to go on walks in the woods with the big dogs in her foster family, and she's eager to try anything and everything. She's in a foster home with small children and cats, all of whom she's made friends with (though the cats give her an occasional strategic strong paw when she deserves it). Iris comes when she's called, and she's getting the hang of how to be a fun, playful family member. She likes all the toys and is getting familiar with the leash.

Iris slows down sometimes, too, and she'll even let the kids hold her on their laps for a bit. She is crate-trained, and she's working on house training. Already, she understands to keep the crate clean when she's in it, so she has the idea.

Iris is one terrifically socialized puppy, as you can see, and she is ready to be with her furever people. If you need her courage, she's ready to step up, or if you just want her company, she'd love that too. You'll have the privilege of looking at those perky little ears every day of her life.

Iris is spayed and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and microchipped. She's also current on preventatives for flea/tick and heartworm. Her adoption fee is $275. Meet & greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org.
