Ida Black Labrador Retriever Mix Powell, OH

Hi, my name is Ida! I am an almost two-year-old female black lab mix (maybe spaniel?) and weigh about 42 pounds. I am from Kentucky where I was surrendered to a shelter with my three puppies. PAWS was able to take me and my puppies who have all been adopted except Savannah! When I first got to my foster parents' house, I was really nervous. I spent time hiding in my crate and watching them while taking treats and occasionally coming out for one on my own. That is not me anymore! I am a total couch snuggling love bug. My foster mom says that I am just the sweetest and kindest young lady. I still get nervous when there are loud noises or someone surprises me but I love to meet new people who are willing to go slow with me! Through all of that, I don't bark, growl, or whine, ever. Also, I have never had an accident in the house so I am housebroken. I will go into my crate if you ask me with a treat and maybe give me a belly rub first!

Although I can be shy, I have a goofy side where I love to throw my toys in the air or do little bunny hops outside. I like going on walks and do pretty well on a leash but also really just love to hang out inside, maybe lay on the couch or on the floor in the sun. Something else my foster parents say is that I am really smart! I know the commands sit, down, shake, touch, fist bump, and am working on wait! I really like kong toys and doggie treat puzzles as well. I am so polite. If I want something, I just sit and stare at you or wag my tail, I don't bark or jump. I am good with other dogs but I can get nervous and overwhelmed. I have not met a cat but I think they'd be ok. I am gentle with kids but quick movements or loud noises can surprise me and I sometimes need my personal space. Cars are fine and I am a great passenger! However, I get worried about getting in cars sometimes so I will just need some patience with that. Truly, I am a great dog if I do say so myself. I can't wait to meet you!
