Name: Huxley
Age: 6 months old (as of 11/16/19)
Activity Level: Medium; he is excited and playful, but is also willing to chill out and cuddle too
Things I do in my free time: Chew on toys, run around, sleep, cuddle, play
Things I know: Sit, crate trained, potty outside
Things I am learning: Sit stay, down, leash manners
Kids: He can get excited and jump sometimes, but he isn’t overly mouthy so would probably be okay with proper guidance and supervision.
Dogs: Great!
Cats: He was very interested in his TX foster’s cat but took the cues to back off well. He was curious but too excited for the cat’s taste.
Size: ~35-40 pounds
Car rides: Rides great in the back seat!
Additional Info from foster parent: This sweet boy was brought to the shelter in Texas by a good Samaritan who saw him being attacked by another dog in an alley. He had several dog bite wounds all over his body, with the one on his front right shoulder being the most severe. He has healed extremely well and he is just the sweetest boy ever. You would never know he went through that experience before he came to Minnesota! Huxley has been really easy to migrate into our home so far and he is continuing to work on learning good manners! He does amazing in the crate with no accidents or whining; he sleeps there at night and does well in it during the day while we are at work. He gets along great with his male and female doggie siblings in the home and has done well with the other dogs he has met. He loves to be close to you and will follow you wherever you go. He is very food motivated and enjoys working on training. Huxley has even been a great live video co-star and classroom presentation extraordinaire. He is an all-star pup who would love to be a part of your family if you open your heart and door to him!
