MY STORY: MY STORY: Hunka Chunka is a charming male Bichon Frise with a soft, white curly coat that’s as cuddly as he is sweet. Rescued from a breeder release, Hunka Chunka is on the lookout for his forever home where he can finally relax and thrive. Though Hunka Chunka may be a bit shy when meeting new people, once he feels safe, he becomes a laid-back and easy-going friend who loves to be petted. He has a special fondness for treats and naps. This delightful boy is the perfect size to snuggle up with you and is ready to bring joy and companionship into your life.
Hunka Chunka has been in a foster home since 9/20/24. At 5yrs old, this was his first experience living in a home and I am happy to say that he has transitioned to home life very well! It took about 1 week to adjust to all of the strange noises - the tv, doorbells, things falling, doors shutting, ect.. After about 2 weeks, we learned that he loves belly rubs and human attention! He does great with other dogs both big and small, and would enjoy the companionship of a female canine bff.
If you're looking for a well behaved, quiet, snuggle buddy Hunka Chunka will be forever grateful to join your loving home.
12/23/24- Foster Update
Hunka Chunka's sweet personality draws smiles and hugs from everyone he meets. He loves to snuggle. If you sit on the couch, he is guaranteed to be right next to you. If you get up to go get something, then he'll wait for you to get back. At night if it's time for bed, don't worry he knows what to do, he'll keep your spot warm and wait until you get there. Don't forget about the belly rubs- he loves belly rubs!
While long leash walks may not be on his everyday wish list, Hunka Chunka does enjoy outside playtime. He likes to sniff and walk/run around the yard. In the fall, he enjoyed running through the leaves with his canine foster friends. When he gets the zoomies, he will show you how fast his little legs can go! We use the circle in my driveway as a mini running track, we do laps up to a few times everyday. I jog and he follows right beside me. We're not ready for a 5k yet, but it's great exercise!
He has a white soft hypoallergenic coat that doesn't shed. Hunka Chunka is not looking for too many travel adventures as he does occasionally get car sick. Bichons are very social dogs and seek both human and canine companionship. Hunka Chunka would benefit from having another dog in the house to serve as a role model and playmate. He can be the only dog when someone is home most of the day.
Hunka Chunka is a low key, affectionate guy that thrives with love and security that a family can provide. In return, he will offer a lifetime of joyful loyal companionship!

Adopters must be 24 years of age. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. Most of our dogs are strays, so the breed is our best guess.
