Good in home with older children
Howie is a one year-old mini Aussie doodle who weighs about 12 pounds. He has been consistent with going outside to potty but does do some marking in a new setting. This stopped after after a couple of days in his foster home. Since coming to his foster home Howie is working on following commands like sit, stay, and come. He loves his treats while learning new commands. He is good on a leash and loves his walks.
Howie loves to greet you when you come home by bringing you a toy. He loves playing with other dogs, but doesn’t always get that the dog is done playing. For this reason he might do better as an only dog in the house, or need a meet and greet with potential dog siblings. When he is the only dog in the house, he is just a wonderful little guy. He enjoys chasing a tennis ball and then will cuddle up on your lap.
Howie does go into a kennel if needed and will quiet down after a little protesting, but prefers life outside the kennel. In his foster home, he has done great while being alone out of the kennel. Being an Aussie, Howie is athletic and will try to escape a yard, so a secure fence is a must.
He does do some resource guarding so a home with older kids who know not to take food or a bone out of his mouth would be good.
Howie is truly just a dream pop and so sweet with everyone he meets . His adoption fee is $450 and he is neutered, vetted, microchipped, and comes with a free month of pet insurance.
