Hoss man, Hoss man, where do we begin?

Hoss is a handsome hunk who was looking for rescue while in an overrun shelter in North Carolina. His beautiful coat and size made it easy to be seen! He was hanging out with other large breed dogs and enjoying his time in the sun.

After getting Hoss settled we were able to learn a lot more about his personality and needs. Hoss has a very strong prey drive and will go after small dogs, cats and little animals. While he can be around other larger dogs outside and in a structured setting we have learned that once he bonds to his person that is no longer possible.

Hoss loves and loves hard. He chooses his person and becomes very protective of them. He will guard them against other people and dogs. To his person he will be your cuddle bug and best friend but he will need to be watched with others around.

Hoss does love a good couch cuddle. He enjoys scratches and pets. He is housebroken and not destructive in the times we’ve seen him in a home.

With Hoss’ needs we are being very specific with his home. A single adult with no other animals seems to be what will set him up for success.
