Meet Hope Honeyheart

Hope Honeyheart is the sweetest girl! Shes quiet, mellow and calm, making for a perfect little work from home companion, or a member of a quiet, calm household. Shes incredibly loving with her favorite people and so friendly with strangers, a lovebug through and through.

We think that Hope may be a Labrador, Pit Bull mix, but she is a rescue, so her exact age and breed are unknown and cannot be guaranteed. Hope is currently estimated to be around one year old, and she currently weighs in at a soft and snuggly 40 pounds.

Hope is a sweet girl, but she can be a little bit shy in new environments for a moment or two. A few pets and a soft voice win her over quickly. Hope adores new friends, and greets every stranger with a tail wag. With her favorite humans, Hope is a total Velcro dog. She trots after her favorite staff members, eager to accompany them to wherever they may be headed. She loves to be next to her humans, or even in their laps if theyll allow it!

Hope is an expressive girl, using her tail, eyebrows and ears to communicate clearly with us human folk. While shes communicative, shes not talkative! Hope is remarkably quiet, and we have yet to hear her bark here at the rescue. Hope is extremely easy-going, and her quiet demeanor will make her a wonderful companion dog for a quiet lifestyle. Hope is gentle and good on leash, still polishing her leash skills, but with a little more practice she will be an excellent walking companion. She auto-sits for treats, and takes treats so gently. Shes very food motivated, meaning that further training will be enjoyable for both of you.

Hope is very dog friendly, and is currently fostered with multiple doggy-siblings. Hope plays so well with others. We would love to see Hope adopted into a household with other dogs, our behavior team recommends a polite doggy brother. Here at the rescue, Hope was cat tested, and we believe her to be cat tolerant. She could live with dog savvy kitties. See her cat test for yourself in her video.

Hopes perfect home would have at least one loving human to adore her, and a doggy friend to help her feel more comfortable. Hope would prefer a home with a back yard, or a home with minimal traffic around it, as she prefers calmer environments. We think Hope would do well as a family dog, with older kids that can be respectful of her boundaries. Hope is a sweet girl, but we do think it may take her some time to settle in and bond with her new family, because she is such a sensitive and soft girl. We hope that her forever family will give her the time and space she needs to properly decompress upon her arrival. Save the welcome home party for a later date, instead welcome Hope home with softness and sweetness, and she will love you endlessly for it.

Hope is such a good girl, and she has waited far too long for her forever family. Dont make Hope wait another day, apply today. With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Hope with anything you need us to in order to ensure shes the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescues hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical caresuch as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic carecan lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.

It doesnt stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
