Hollyween Akita & German Shepherd Dog Mix Kensington, CA

Meet Hollyween, a beautiful and resilient one-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd and Akita mix looking for her forever home. Her journey has been nothing short of remarkable: once abandoned at a shelter with her puppies and placed on the euthanasia list, she was rescued at the last moment by dedicated volunteers. Since then, she’s been living in foster care with resident dogs, adapting and thriving in her new environment.

Hollyween looks like a mix of German Shepherd and Akita. She’s smart, calm, playful, and independent yet affectionate. Despite her tough start, she’s proven to be incredibly adaptable. At first, the comforts of indoor living were new to her, but she quickly learned to enjoy the good life: snoozing on her dog bed, savoring treats from her Kong, mastering stairs, and loving car rides to the dog park. She’s strictly house-trained and has settled into a routine, making potty time a breeze.

True to her nature, Hollyween adores other animals. She gets along seamlessly with dogs of all personalities, whether in her foster homes or at the dog park. Playful yet mellow, she’s never shown fear or aggression toward her furry companions. In fact, she hasn’t barked once in her five weeks with her foster family—a true testament to her Akita lineage! Hollyween’s compatibility with cats is unknown, as she hasn’t been tested with feline friends yet

Hollyween is as intelligent as she is sweet. She mastered basic commands like “sit” and “stay” almost instantly. While she’s making excellent progress in loose-leash walking classes, she can still get excited by squirrels and needs a bit more training in that area. With her dedication and smarts, she’ll excel with consistent guidance.

Although a bit shy around new people at first, Hollyween is incredibly loving once she warms up. Her gentle and loyal nature shines through, and when you earn her trust, she’ll make you feel like the most special person in the world. Recently spayed and fully recovered, she’s ready to start her next chapter with a family who will cherish her.
