Meet Hobie
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS.
Hobie is a wonderful 1 year old, 26 pound chunky Pug mix who is such a funny guy! He looks and acts very much like a Puggle (Pug/Beagle hybrid).
He is very sweet and craves attention. He loves lap time.
Hobie loves toys and sticks and enjoys having fun.
He has been playful with other foster and resident dogs, gets along well with everyone, and even has no reaction when the resident Corgi pesters him with herding nips.
Hobie REALLY wants to have a similar sized or little larger doggie friend and playmate or two in his new home. He loves to play and wrestle with other friendly dogs.
Hobie needs a new family that will show him that he is safe. Not coddle him, just help him gain confidence that all is well and he can trust everyone. We do not know what happened in the past but he cowers if you move towards him quickly, raise your voice or pick up something quickly…even if it is just the stick he was playing with. He seems to be a submissive guy.
He does great in a securely fenced yard (no invisible or underground fencing in his new home) and that would be best for him since he loves to run and run and run! He would love to do some zoomies inside, too, if allowed.
He is new to the leash and his new family will need to gradually introduce him to leash walking in new places. Again, with gentle introductions to new things and places, he will gain confidence.
We prefer no small children please since he can get spooked by sudden movements and we want him to be happy and confident in his new forever home.
Older, respectful and responsible kids should be fine.
Hobie has been a very good boy with doing his potty business outside since he is kept on a regular schedule in his foster home and given ample opportunities to relieve himself. Prior to coming into our rescue, he was in a crated boarding situation for several weeks and did have accidents but we are pretty confident that was due to the stress of boarding in an unfamiliar place and not being taken out often enough. All he needs is for his new family to provide him with little leash walks and supervision to make sure he has had his poop time.
Hobie is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped already.
Adoption donation $300.
Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.
