Meet Hera

It’s a good day when a dog that has been a visitor at the shelter for months gets to take an adventure outside the kennel gates. There is no sugar coating this: Hera is a lot of dog. She has a lot of excitement in her life. Excitement to meet people. Excitement to explore new smells. Bluntly stated, Hera is friendly and excitable.

In mid-November, she took a little adventure to the nearby local park. She loved to explore the new smells. She was mentally stimulated as volunteers had her climb the playground equipment, but the best part was her unexpected calmness during the car ride. If you are an adopter that likes an active dog, then Hera is a good choice. She needs some leash training, but today we saw the softer side of Hera. With some guidance and a new environment, she will quickly mold herself into your lifelong friend. She is getting a little stir-crazy at the shelter.
