Meet Helga
Meet Helga!
Don’t let her tiny size fool you. This 3.5 pound girl is full of spunk!
She’s estimated to be about 7 years old, someone witnessed her get hit by a car and pulled over to help. By some miracle, the only injury she sustained was a broken leg- it was beyond repair and had to be amputated.
Her remaining knee isn’t the best, she has what is referred to as a “luxating patella”. Her adopter has to be sure to keep her on a high quality joint supplement to keep her mobility in peak condition. Otherwise; she has no health issues.
She’s a cuddle bug and gets really playful when you first come home. She is a shadow and loves to trot after you around the house, and supervise all kitchen activities. She’s also a great guard dog when she spots the evil US PS driver ?
She isn’t the biggest fan of cats and will chase them, although she’s so tiny she can’t do any damage. She also doesn’t care for other dogs- she can be bossy/snip when they get in her personal space. Because of this we prefer she go to a home with minimal other animals in the house, so she can be happiest- but we are open to adopting with other pets so long as they get along well.
Her last quirk is that she prefers to use potty pads than go outside, but we’ve been working on that skill and she does like company when going potty and likes to go on leash walks.
