Harvey. All around GOOD BOY. Supermodel looks. Water lover. Snuggle bug. Country taste in entertainment- ignores the fanciest, most expensive toy in favor of a stick every single time. They don't come much nicer than this guy.

A true herding medley, Harvey's DNA includes Border Collie, and 3 types of shepherd: Miniature American, Australian and German. He's around 2 years old, 65# and tons of fun. He's an active guy who wants to be with his people doing as much together as possible. The perfect companion for a family that takes their dog on vacation, hikes, and to neighborhood cookouts. He wants to be in the picture on family Christmas cards and be that once-in-a-lifetime dog.

Harvey is bright, easily learning new skills in his foster home. He would love a chance to show off his smarts with trick training or obedience classes. Older kids that want a companion while doing homework or hanging with friends are a great fit. If they promise to throw his treasured sticks, all the better. He's curious about kitties and could live with dog-savvy felines. He would love a fenced yard to patrol and is a good candidate for mature families who keep dogs safe on leash. He relaxes nicely in his crate, but doesn't want to spend long hours in it - being alone all day is not his jam. He's learning to walk nicely on leash with a Gentle Leader/Halti.

We want Harvey to take obedience classes with his new family. Herding breed experience is a plus. He would love to have an occupation in his new home - running or walking partner, dog sport or helping keep watch over a rural property!

Harvey is being fostered in Ames, Iowa.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Harvey's adoption fee is $450+ MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
