Harriet Border Collie & Labrador Retriever Mix Springfield, MO

With my trusty journal, I’m on a mission to figure out this big, new world around me! My name is Harriet and just like my namesake, Harriet the Spy, I am a curious little explorer. As a 10 month old, 35 pound Labrador/Border Collie mix, I came from a serious dog hoarding situation, and I am just learning how to trust people. I am slow to warm up and learning that human touch is okay. I prefer to observe from the safely of my crate or dog bed. I will need to be adopted locally in the Springfield, Mo. area because I will need several meet and greets to become comfortable with a new person. But don’t let my apprehension fool you—I’m always keeping a close eye on you, making sure you’re nearby. I am doing well on my leash, but I still get a little scared about being hooked up. Admittedly I am finding the joys of toys and bones. My favorite discovery so far is treats, and I am learning I will do anything for one! I’m pretty laid back and love the company of other dogs. Running around outside with other dogs in a secured fenced area is my idea of a perfect day! I would love another confident dog to be my partner in crime and a patient and understanding person as I learn just how amazing humans can be. I also get along with cats and respectful kids. My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
