Meet Harper!

A playful one-and-a-half-year-old Bloodhound mix from Silver Spring, MD, whose gentle, affectionate nature is complemented by a sleek white coat with striking black patches. This large, 65-pound beauty is a sweet and loving companion who adores wrestling with other dogs her size and showing off her skills with her favorite toys. Harper’s perfect day includes romping around with dog friends, followed by some quality cuddle time with her favorite humans. She knows the commands “sit,” “stay,” and “down,” and she’s always eager to please, especially when positive reinforcement is involved!

Harper is crate-trained, house-trained, and up to date on all her vaccinations, so she’s ready to settle right into her new home. Although she’s generally good with other dogs, she can be a bit timid around strangers and would thrive in a home where patience is key, especially when meeting new people. She’s most comfortable in a calm environment without young children, where her family can offer reassurance and help her gain confidence in new situations.

Despite her initial shyness with unfamiliar faces, Harper is a laid-back pup when it comes to being left alone and manages just fine for short periods. She’s also a fan of regular walks, where she can burn off her medium energy and explore the world at her own pace. Just be mindful of strangers approaching on leash, as this can make her a little anxious.

Harper’s playful spirit, combined with her love for cuddles, makes her an endearing companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend. She’s happiest in a home where she can engage with other dogs and continue to build her trust with humans in a loving, patient environment.
