Gus has had a rough start, but he's ready for a fresh start with a loving family. He was found tied to a pole in a park, but now he's in a caring foster home, getting all the love and attention he needs.

Gus came to us underweight, but he's been slowly gaining with the right care. He has some musculoskeletal challenges, but thanks to a holistic vet, chiropractic care, and acupuncture, he's doing much better. His new family will need to keep up with his special diet and ongoing treatments.

Gus is great with young kids and other dogs. While he loves children and prefers women, he may need some time to warm up to men. Gus is living in a home with cats. He could do well in a home with feline friends, but does appear afraid of them.

Don't let his age fool you! Gus loves to chew on bones, play in the yard, and he’s crazy about toys and treats. He’s a gentle boy with lots of love to give.

Gus gets very attached to "his person" and will follow you around the house.

Gus enjoys slow, flat walks, but doesn't do well with hikes or elevation.
Gus is looking for a special adopter who will keep up with his diet and care routine. If you have other pets or kids, even better—Gus loves company! He is most often found snuggling on his foster mom or his dog sibling or trying to sneak a treat from his human foster brother!
