Meet GORDY
PLEASE, PLEASE READ carefully. Most of your questions will be answered in this biography.
House/Crate Trained
GREAT SMALL SIZE - 35 lbs.
Good on Leash
Medium to High Energy Level (at least right now)
Good with Other Nice Dogs
Would prefer a fenced-in-yard
Great Temperament
Loves People
This spunky little dude is GORDY. He has a great smile and phenomenal temperament. Not to mention, a personality that will have you wrapped around his paw the minute you meet him. He is quite playful, loves other dogs and loves to be with his people.
When you talk with Gordy, he listens so intently and often tilts his head to show you that he’s understanding and engaged in the conversation. He walks nicely on leash and already knows how to sit. He is treat/food motivated, so teaching him new tricks will be easy. He has a great appetite and even talks saying “Awoo” when it’s time to eat.
Gordy would do well in a home with another active dog in the family or as the only dog if he gets enough exercise. He's still young, so he does need to work off that extra energy - whether it's daily walks, running around her own yard, hiking, etc. He likes to play with toys, balls and chew on bones.
We don’t know Gordy’s background, but we do know his future is brighter than the Times Square ball drop on New Year’s Eve. This little dude was rescued from a local shelter with what was thought to be a gunshot wound. Once at the vet, it was determined Gordy had been attacked by an animal or animals. His original prognosis was not good at all. However, he’s made incredible strides and has been released from medical care. He’s been walking every day to strength his leg and is hoping by the end of the year, the vet will give him clearance so he can run around, play ball, and wrestle like he so wants to do.
While the little elf won’t sit on your refrigerator or counter tops, he will add love and happiness to your family. Could you be Elf Gordy’s forever family?
We believe GORDY to be an American Staffordshire mix. His estimated DOB is 09/19/2019, and he weighs 36 pounds as of 11/24/20.
For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. You can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email info@youluckydogrescue.org for additional details that are not included in this biography.
PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.
Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.
The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.
We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
