GOOBY at 60 lbs is estimated to be less than a year old, and we are guessing him to be some kind of hound mix. We believe he is full grown, although he still has some filling out to do, and could possibly get up to 65 or 75 lbs.

This kid is a very special boy who very much wants to be around people. We don’t know exactly where he came from, but suspect he was dumped. Gooby was sighted on a 4 lane busy street where he was almost hit several times. Upon capturing him at a red light, we discovered someone had thrown food in the middle of one of the lanes, and that’s what kept him going back into traffic. We weren’t planning on taking another dog that day, but KNEW he wouldn’t have lasted another minute if we didn’t grab him in that moment.

Gooby is extremely sweet, and seems uncertain on what he is supposed to do and when. He is very clear however that he loves being around good people. It seems to provide him a sense of loving security. We believe he had to be dumped, because he isn’t willing to get far enough (even in the backyard) to run off from anyone. Additionally, it doesn’t take much for him to gravitate towards you. He is starving for affection, and very willing to please. Mr Gooby is obedient by nature, and would benefit from understanding expectations based on what comes from basic obedience training. His desire is to be a good boy, and just needs assistance/guidance in knowing how. We truly believe Gooby is capable of being an A+ dog with both consistency and training. As of now, he is horrible with the leash, but fantastic without it! This boy is simply inclined to be/stay with you. At the same time, we do not recommend him being off leash as his recall cannot be counted on in the event of distractions such as a squirrel or another animal. If this is something you would have him professionally trained to do, he would most likely adapt and respond to it well, and very quickly.

No separation or storm anxiety for this boy! He is not quite ready to be free range in a home just yet. He is super curious (as a young dog should be), and is very eager to discover what he might be able to chew up. Gooby never complains about being contained in a 4x4 dog kennel that is 6 feet tall. He enjoys being able to observe what it is like to be in a home, but hasn’t actually had the experience of being in a standard crate or free range in a home. He is still learning what it means to be house-trained, and typically barks when he has to potty. He is certainly a smart boy. When it is time to go out for potty he runs straight to the back door, and when it's time to come back in, he runs directly back into his kennel. This is not anything we taught him. It's something he does all on his own.

Gooby is not perfect right now, and is quite capable to become pretty close to it. If you are willing to invest into an A+ dog, by providing consistent structure & training that is positive and empowering, you can have it all with this guy. If you are willing to provide this sweet angel with love, patience, and structured training, he would both love and be honored to be your loyal companion for life.

Gooby says “life isn’t meant to be lived alone.” If you’d like to invite this boy to join your home & family, please complete an application per the link below:
