Meet Glory
Glory is a total sweetheart! She is house and crate trained, and is doing great with her basic manners, she knows come and sit. Glory LOVES to be outside and play, play, play! She is great with other dogs and loves every person she has ever met. Glory can be a little overexcited when meeting new dogs, but she picks up on their cues and is respectful of what they are communicating. She is such a good girl.
Glory was born on 6/1 and was rescued along with her Catahoula mix mom, Luna and three siblings - Hero, Sam and Rebel. Glory has a beautiful coat and the most striking eyes. She's just a little peanut who is much more petite than she looks in her pictures. Mom, Luna weighs about 40lbs. Check out her listing if you want to see what Glory will likely look like when full grown.
We will be looking for a home with another young, playful dog for Glory as she really thrives with a buddy. Cats are a question mark. Generally we wouldn't match high prey drive dog with cats, but we can consider it based on the potential cat sibling in question. Other animals (indoor small animals and/or goats, chickens etc.) will not be a great fit. Glory will be fine with kids, they just need to understand puppy teeth!
Catahoulas and 'houla mixes require consistent, ongoing training, regular socialization and both physical and mental outlets. Because of this, someone who is very active themselves, with experience with a high drive dog will be the best fit.
Adoption fees cover age specific vaccinations, martingale and collar, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worming etc.
Adoption fees:
Through 6 months of age $450;
7 months to through 5 years $400;
6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500;
9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300
Almost Home Rescue of New England is a 501 c 3 non-profit rescue; rescuing dogs since 2005. All Adoption applications are completed on line at www.almosthomerescue.net
This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning Pending Adoption. This dog is in foster care locally, ONLY if Maine or New Hampshire is listed next to the dogs name; otherwise, the dog is still waiting with our partner rescue for an adoption or foster home in New England.
PLEASE NOTE - We will check your veterinary reference, to ensure that current and prior dogs have a history of being kept up to date on rabies and distemper, have had annual heartworm tests, and are on heartworm preventative at least 6 months of the year. Current pets must by spayed/neutered.
