Meet Gillie - No Longer Accepting Applications
Do you want an absolute sweetheart who is looking for a forever home? I am such a good dog. I am a 35-pound, 2yo Austrian Black and Tan Hound mix who is equal parts independent and cuddly.
In obedience class, I have learned how to sit, lay down, and stay calm on a mat. I have also completed level 1 of tracking; a dog sport that puts my nose to work!
I am a fairly low maintenance dog - during TV time, you can usually find me snoozing on a chair, checking in for snuggles every so often. If you rub my ears, I will close my eyes and lean into you. Its my favorite and my foster family thinks it is the cutest!
I hope my new family and I spend lots of time outside. I love to go on walks and I don’t pull towards other dogs or people; I am more interested in all the good smells. I have this amazingly cute habit of jumping up on small garden walls. It’s like I’m part mountain goat!
I love wrestling with my canine sister, and we run circles around each other in the backyard which is so fun. I would be happy in a home with or without other dogs. I haven’t lived with kids before, but I would likely do well with children because I am not particularly jumpy or mouthy.
When my foster family is away, I am good both in my crate and free in the house.
Forget what you think about hounds, I don’t drool, howl, or bray, but it is true that I have the softest ears and would make a great outdoor companion.
