Meet Gia

**English

bulldogs are highly prone to major medical issues such as joint issues and heat stroke and require extra precautions to ensure their safety and well-being. We are specifically looking for a bulldog-savvy home for Gia.**

Meet Gia - a pirate pup with a heart of gold!

Gia is a 2-year-old wrinkly-faced girl who is oh-so ready for her happy ever after. She is the sweetest pup who has blossomed in foster care and is eager to be friends with everyone she meets. She is your typical bulldog, full of funny noises and stubborn, and is 100% a good girl. Gia is fully grown and weighs about 46lbs.

Gia came to us from a local shelter after she was surrendered with another bulldog when their owner had to move out of the country. The other bulldog was adopted from the shelter and Gia came to us, where she has been thriving ever since.

Gia is the squishiest little girl who is affectionate, loyal, and the best napping buddy. She has come out of her shell since coming into foster care and has learned how to relax and have fun. Her favorite activities include cuddling with her foster parents and finding stinky shoes to collect. She has done great learning her basic manners but will need some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. She would thrive with a family who will make her a true member of the family and want to include her in family activities. Her love languages are definitely physical touch and quality time.

Gia has done very well with the other dogs she has met, but can be pushy with her play so might be too much for smaller or older dogs. She also very much wouldn't mind being your only spoiled pup. Gia seems like she might do well with cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Gia has done well with kids and could be a great addition to a home with kids 5 years and older.

Gia has been doing great with her house and crate training. She has done well being left in her crate when her foster parents are gone for short periods but would do best with a family who doesn't have to leave her home alone often or for long.

Gia came into the shelter with some sort of trauma to her eye and the shelter vet decided it was best to have the eye removed. Gia has healed from the surgery and has been adjusting well to living life with one eye. She also seems to have some skin allergies that have cleared up being on high-quality food and staying up-to-date with her flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.

Gia is such a happy, loving girl and she deserves the best home ever. If you think that might be with you, submit an adoption application today!

Gia's adoption fee is $450.

It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.

Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
