MEET GHOST!

Ghost is approximately 1 year old, his DNA is in the photos. He is a handsome boy and is on the smaller side weighing just 35lbs.

Ghost came to us back in March. We received a phone call asking if we could help as there was a stray dog with a gunshot wound taking shelter in their barn. We quickly headed out to assess upon arrival we knew he needed immediate care and rushed him up to an emergency vet. At the vet his wound was cleaned and stabilized to buy us time to get him into our vet the following morning. The following morning at the vet it was deemed that the gunshot wound had done too much damage, his leg would need to be amputated. Ghost has recovered nicely from surgery and is ready to find his forever home.

Ghost is very puppy like and has had to learn many new things but he is so smart and such a quick learner he hasn't had any issues! Being a tripod hasn't affected his mobility at all. He LOVES to go for walks and runs, jumps and hops around the yard with ease. Ghost is does well on leash, enjoys car rides and will jump in the truck no problem. He is crate trained and potty trained does well in the house but sometimes needs reminders that he needs to stay down when food is on the counter.

While Ghost can be timid when first meeting people once he warms up he is very affectionate with a lot of love to give. He loves to give kisses and get ear scritches. Ghost is an athletic and very smart pup, curious about everything around him and quick to learn new things. He can be a bit independent and has a dignified side to him, but also loves to show off his silly and playful side. Ghost can be protective of his area and makes sure to alert you to any potential danger, but his timid nature gets the best of him and while barking he usually retreats to an area he deems safe. Ghost has had a rough start to life and is still learning to trust people, so he is looking for a quiet and experienced owner who can give him the time, patience, and TLC he needs to become the best boy he can be. He would benefit from having a female dog friend (similar in size or bigger than him) in the home to play with and teach him that people can be trusted. Ghost requires a fenced yard (he has not challenged the 4ft fence at his foster home).

Ghost is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and treated for fleas.

If you are interested in meeting Ghost, you will need to travel to Rochester for the meet.

Ghost's adoption fee is $400.

An approved application and an appointment is required.
