Gerry is looking for his forever home – he is a 2 year old black lab cross weighing 58-lbs.

Gerry is a popular boy when out on walks - he’s charming and entertaining and attracts a lot of attention which he LOVES!
He is very good with dogs and people, including the vet and strangers. When playing with dogs, he handicaps himself nicely but also likes a good rough and tumble play.
When he’s out he comes across as confident in the world – good around people, bikes, urban environment, but he’d love a quiet home to retreat to so he can decompress after his adventures, with a yard for some evening zoomies to entertain you.

Gerry’s ideal home is in greater Vancouver (quiet suburb seems perfect), as he’d like to stay connected with his foster mum. Because he seems so confident sometimes its easy to miss that the poor guy has had challenges in his life, and he gets stressed too (like what the heck is that vacuum cleaner all about?!), so a quiet home with someone that can read his subtle signs that he would like a rest, would be ideal.

He’s looking for a home that understands resource guarding. Gerry is incredibly smart, and super responsive to training – he learns very fast if you teach with kindness. Gerry has high prey drive (he remembers where the squirrels live). This means no cats (yep, not even your really sweet cat).

He is house trained and has solid response to commands (stay, go to your bed, sit). Gerry is not only good looking, but a truly unique and special soul,.

He is healthy, vaccinated, and neutered. To love Gerry gently pays big in the long run. Gerry is good with kids and they love him, but with his exuberance, and sometimes when he doesn’t want to share, that might be best for visiting kids only.
