Gentle Bear is true to his name – he is such a gentle soul and he is a bear of a dog! When his family moved and left him behind, he was fed by a very kind neighbor until he could be rescued. This sweet, shy Aussie mix is about 7 years old, weighs 70 pounds, has a striking reddish-brown coat and sports a full tail. Gentle Bear is housebroken, is starting to learn his basic commands, walks well on a leash and rides great in the car.
Gentle Bear is sweet, gentle and friendly. He is fabulous with adults and loves children. He is a pretty high Velcro dog who LOVES to be petted. He is a medium energy guy who is fine with other dogs and is learning to play! He is pretty good with cats, although he may be a bit too curious for some cats’ taste. Gentle Bear is not much for toys, preferring short tussles with his dog pal and long walks with his foster family.
Gentle Bear wants nothing more than to be part of a loving home. His ideal home includes a happy, fun family who is looking for a wonderful companion to join them wherever they go. A fenced yard and a dog pal would be great, children are welcome! Gentle Bear is heartworm positive, and so he will be available in late August, at the end of his treatment period.
