Meet Gemma
Gemma is being fostered in Missouri.
Gemma is a snuggly 7 year old, 70 lb retired mama dog! All 9 of her adorable, healthy puppies have been adopted. Gemma has had to patiently wait her turn in her foster home until her final Heartworm injection. Now that her treatment is over, she is just waiting to be spayed on 11/01. After that, she will be available for adoption!
Gemma is a fantastic girl. Shes full of joy and just wants to be loved. Gemma gets along great with the resident medium sized dog, but may require slow introductions to strange dogs and men. She seems more accepting of women. Gemma should not be around cats as she will chase them and/or be aggressive. She has some barrier reactivity if strangers approach her fence outside or her crate inside, but is fine with people shes familiar with. Gemma is laidback once shes comfortable around you, walks well with a harness, and listens to cues. She knows sit, leave it, her name/whistle to recall, lie down, crate. Shes a respectful beggar and doesnt seem to have any resource guarding. She dislikes being separated if youre in the house. She wants to be with her person!
