Meet Gala - adopted!
Lively and as cute as they come, Gala is a connoisseur of belly rubs and string cheese. Always ready to stop, drop and indulge in either. Snuggly with a warm heart that wants to connect with people. Born in mid-June, around 14#. Momma Cider is a beautiful Border Collie. Daddy is a mystery, but he certainly passed along a lot of “adorable”!
Gala enjoys meeting new friends, regardless of how many legs they have. She’s a typical puppy: play play play, nap, eat, play some more. Easygoing approach to life. Watches and learns how to dog from her canine foster siblings. Potty training and leash walking are works in progress, to be expected at her age. Learning to be alone in her crate (admittedly not her favorite thing); each day gets better.
The ideal family for Gala has a schedule that works for a puppy who needs potty breaks every few hours. There is an older, friendly pup in the home who will enjoy a devoted sidekick. They have a solid plan for socializing Gala with the world: meeting people of all ages and abilities, other dogs, and experiencing sights, surfaces and sounds (everything from hearing garbage trucks to checking out Petsmart to watching kids on a playground).
She has medium energy, looking forward to daily neighborhood strolls with her family. Obedience classes are an absolute must for this smarty – please don’t forget the cheese! She LOVES kids! Kids who can redirect sharp puppy teeth will enjoy Gala’s affectionate side, always near her people whether out and about, playing in the yard or snuggling on the couch. Families with young kids should have a physically fenced yard. Mature families with a history of keeping dogs safe on leash are also welcome to apply. Gala wants to play with kitties and is very gentle with them.
Gala can’t wait to get her very own last name and be part of a fun-filled family. APPLY to ADOPT her at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt
Gala is being fostered in Brooklyn Park, MN.
As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Gala's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. She is microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. She will be spayed by the rescue at the age of 6 months at one of the vet clinics we work with. The cost of this procedure is included in her adoption fee. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
