Hi, I’m Gage, an older Pit mix puppy with a gorgeous gray coat and an even more beautiful personality! I’m fully vetted and ready to find my forever family. I’m super playful and love spending time with both dogs and people. I haven’t been around kids in my foster home, but I think I’d do great with older children who enjoy a playful pup like me!
Meeting new people is one of my favorite things—I’m always playful and eager to make friends. When it comes to cats, I’m curious but not aggressive, so a slow introduction would help me get to know them better.
I’m a well-mannered pup who is potty-trained and crate-trained, and I walk nicely on a leash. Occasionally, I might pull a bit, but I respond well to redirection. I do eat my food quickly, but a slow feeder dish has been helping me pace myself. I’m treat-motivated and love to learn, so training me will be fun and rewarding.
Toys and cuddles are two of my favorite things! Whether it’s playing with a ball or just enjoying some good scratches, I’m always happy and loving life. I don’t have any separation anxiety or destructive behaviors, which makes me an easy-going companion.
My ideal home would be active and full of love—maybe with dog siblings to play with and people who enjoy spending time with me. One of the cutest things about me? I absolutely love to cuddle! If you’re looking for a sweet and playful pup who will be your best buddy, I’m your guy! Let’s meet soon! ?
She/He is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. We cannot hold our dogs for any reason. Unless the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will only consider applications that are within 1 hour or 40 miles of Lemont, IL. This is due to the required vetting at our partner veterinarians. If the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will allow adoptions out of state or outside of our 1 hour or 40 mile restriction. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within five days of approval.
ADOPTION FEE: $350 (includes spay/neuter must be done when the rescue schedules it at one of our partner vets, microchip, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease ) and a general wellness which includes dewormer, heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention)
*Please understand that we will spay/neuter no younger than 16 weeks but it is the rescue's discretion when the dog will get that procedure. We know that some veterinarians recommend waiting depending on the breed's projected size but as a rescue, our goal is to prevent further unwanted, "accidental" litters. Spaying and neutering also have many benefits for cancer prevention and avoiding behavioral problems. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay and neuter procedures for cats and dogs as early as 8-16 weeks of age. We always assess and speak with our partner vets when is the best time to perform this procedure.
