Frodo can't wait to meet you!

At 42 pounds and four months old, Frodo is a growing Labrador Retriever mix who has mastered the art of cuddling. With Frodo in your life, you will have someone to escort you through your home, yard, and adventures into the world around you. Frodo needs his training, exercise, and playtime, but when you need downtime on the couch or snuggled up to catch some z’s, count him in. He craves connection with his people and has also been quite gentle with the kids whom he lives with.

Frodo is a sweet, sensitive boy who enjoys relocating shoes, pop-up tunnels, tennis balls, food puzzles, crinkle toys, stuffies, rope toys, and anything that leads to active interaction and play. When outside, he enjoys exploring, running, and watching the wildlife in the backyard. He is improving his leash skills but has not mastered impulse control -- he likes sniffing lots of new things.

At home, he loves to play with all his family members. Frodo loves cuddling, cozy blankets, and chews when crated, but crates are not preferred when relaxing. He would do best in a home with multiple family members, dog-savvy kids, a fenced yard, and an older resident dog to help show him the ropes. He would love a family who is home more that they are gone or is able to take him places with them. Frodo enjoys playing with other dogs and will snuggle with them when he needs downtime, but his people are still busy doing their thing.

This adorable pup is currently in the process of house training, and needs a family who has the time to help him learn confidence and trust in addition to his regular puppy needs. Although Frodo is generally quiet, he tends to bark when he feels lonely or when he finds something to investigate, so a home with no shared walls (i.e. apartments/condos) is preferred. Also, because he is such a courteous boy, he will speak when spoken to by other dogs along the gossip chain when he is out in the yard.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 90-mile radius of Minneapolis; however, we will consider up to 250 miles if the applicant is willing to drive to cities as needed.
