Meet Fred
Fred is a 1 - to 2 year old neutered male Doberman. He is currently heartworm negative but will require retesting in 6 months.
Fred had a rough start in life and came into the rescue emaciated with a badly botched home ear crop that required surgery. Our friends at VCA All Pets cleaned up his ear wounds and started the re-feeding protocol. Fred was only 44 pounds when he got into a foster home. He is now a lean and muscular 60-pound hunk of love.
Despite his rough beginning, Fred is one of the sweetest dogs ever. He is a true velcro Doberman and follows his foster mom everywhere. Fred walks well on a leash and has been undergoing some basic obedience training. He is housebroken and kennel trained, but he does have some separation anxiety that requires a special kennel called a Ruffland.
He gets along with male and female dogs, both big and small. Fred is in love with his doggy foster sibling and loves to play and snuggle with her. Fred would do best in a home with another playful dog around his size or a little smaller that loves to snuggle as much as play. Fred loves to cuddle with his doggy foster sibling.
Although Fred is a young dog, he is very calm and would do well in a home with kids.
