Meet Foxy Old Lady - ADOPTED!
Foxy Old Lady came to us recently from a hoarding situation where 33 dogs in total were rescued.
While she was in our care the first 48 hours we noticed her drinking water excessively and urinated far too much. We had her to the vet and ran diagnostics discovering that she is a diabetic, and her condition had been left untreated for a long time..
Foxy has started on her insulin 2 x a day, and she has also been diagnosed with Cushing's Disease. Both of which cause excessive thirst and excessive urination. She has started on Cushing's medications 2 weeks ago.
We are seeking a long term foster home or forever home for Foxy, she needs a warm, safe and loving home preferably without children. She requires someone who works from home or who is home often to allow her to go out to a secure fenced yard that has easy access (without stairs) for frequent potty breaks while she gets used to her new surroundings.
When Foxy is stressed she drinks and pees a whole lot at first (in a new environment this will happen). Once she knows alher new place and routine, her stress drinking and peeing lessens. She also howls a little at first but she gets over that after a few days.
Foxy needs a secure fenced yard for frequent potty breaks off leash. Also she LOVES rolling in the grass and sitting out in the sun..
She walks very well on leash but High traffic & and high foot traffic areas will not be fair for Foxy as she is blind and skittish. No apartments.
She is the sweetest old lady who had to endure too much suffering over her past years. It's time for us Humans so show her that we aren't all terrible.
Please consider giving Foxy a home for whatever time she may have left. We will cover her insulin and supplies. You provide the love and care!
Foxy is spayed, flea treated and dewormed. Her adoption fee will be waived to the right home.
A home visit and application is required.
