Forrest - adopted! Border Collie Mix Minneapolis, MN

Snuggly, charming Forrest is affectionate and totally devoted, giving his entire heart to those he loves. He likes to try new things and see new places with his family in tow. A quick study who enjoys learning. Wants to check out more and more of the world at his own pace, without pressure. He is a 9-10 month old Border Collie, 49#, looking for a family as special as he is.

Forrest loves to play with any kind of ball or toy with a squeaker. At home, where he feels most secure, he’s silly and fun, ready to goof around any time. Loves attention from his humans in the form of cuddles, games in the yard or training time (typical teenage boy loves his treats!). Medium energy, happy with a nice walk each day, and both time to play and indulge in cozy naps near his person.

The ideal family for Forrest is patient and loving. They will honor his interest in the world by providing opportunities to see and do new things in increments, always providing a positive and happy atmosphere. Attempts to force him into a situation result in a shutdown. A lighthearted go-with-the-flow approach to ongoing socialization is the best bet. He is good with older kids (roughly 8+) and idolizes other dogs. We prefer a home with another pup for Forrest. (That said, if he’s taught us anything, it’s to be open-minded to any possibility.)

Good in his crate or gated in a smaller room of the house while his people are out. Potty trained and working on leash skills, responding best he’s on a fun stroll to check out the news of the neighborhood or new sights and smells. Outdoor excursions build his confidence more easily than being in a confined or noisy space indoors.

Forrest demonstrates time and time again that he wants to grow – he does not want a life of staying home all the time. He trusts his people and needs to learn to trust himself just as much. A family ready to invest in his development will find him to be the most loyal, devoted companion imaginable.

Forrest is being fostered in Brooklyn Park, MN.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Forrest's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
