Meet Ferdinand

Ferdinand was abandoned at an overcrowded shelter a few days before Thanksgiving. He became completely shut down and refused to eat, cowering at the back of his kennel. Adding injury to insult, he tested high-positive for heartworms and needed treatment immediately.

We brought Ferdinand into rescue and treated him for heartworms. He's just like his namesake - Ferdinand the bull. He's sweet and gentle but his emotions run deep. He has come out of his shell a lot over the past two months, and is finally ready to find a home of his own. He gets along well with dogs and children. We have not seen him around cats, but he has not shown any prey drive towards small critters.

Ferdinand is nearly 2 years old and around 60 lbs. He's fostered in Brooklyn and is available for adoption anywhere in the US as long as the adopter can travel to meet him. Apply to adopt at https://bit.ly/rosr-adopt-foster.
