Meet Felicia
Felicia is a striking beauty with her rich chocolate-colored coat, upright ears, and golden eyes that seem to peer right into your soul. This amazing mama dog has lovingly cared for her eight puppies and now she’s ready to find HER forever home.
Felicia is the epitome of love and nurturing. She has a kind heart and a gentle spirit, always ready to shower affection on those around her. Despite her short legs—what we affectionately call a “low rider” in rescue—she’s a good-sized dog, weighing in at 44 pounds. Her unique appearance, which makes her look like she stepped right out of a cartoon, is sure to turn heads wherever she goes! Oh and one more thing….. she has no tail!
We believe Felicia might be a mix of Corgi and Chocolate Lab, but as with many rescue dogs, the DNA results might surprise us. One thing is for sure: she’ll be a showstopper as you walk around town, proudly showing off your beautiful new family member. Could Felicia be the one you’re looking for?
Felicia’s foster Mom tells us she would be good in nearly any home. She loves to be outside regardless of the weather (even pouring rain). She is very treat motivated and eager to please. She is gentle (minus eager jumping) and quiet. She will make someone very happy.
“Felicia has been with me for 2+ months and has settled in well. She is a very sweet pup and loves to go for walks, chew on bones and meet new people. She is house broken and will let you know when she needs to go out (once settled in) by nudging you with her nose or sitting by the “out” door, and perhaps even a whine if you haven’t gotten the message. She is very quiet, rarely if ever barks. She does not bark at dogs or people passing by and not even at the doorbell.
Felicia loves to go on walks and is very good on the leash. She is interested in all the little critters (especially squirrels) but stopped dead when she saw deer for the first time. She takes treats gently and knows, sit, no, and we’ve tried paw but she usually slinks into a ‘down’ when we try ‘paw’. She will retrieve a thrown toy and let you take it to throw again. She loves her toys and doesn’t tear them up like other dogs. Stuffed toys will last weeks before she unstuffs them.”
ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE or will be SPAYED OR NEUTERED.
The Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue adoption donation is $620.00. This includes: spay/neuter (at our vet), vaccines (dhpp, bordetella, rabies), microchip, health certificate, fecal test and our dogs are on preventatives for fleas/ticks/heartworm.
Out of state adopters must also pay for an interstate health certificate to their state. (This is typically around $75.00)
